Synoptic Situation

A shallow westerly wave is present over upper parts of the country. Moist currents from Arabian sea are penetrating central and upper parts of the country.

Thursday

Mainly very hot and dry weather is expected in most plain areas of the country. However, partly cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm is likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Islamabad, Pothohar region, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir. Gusty/dust raising winds are likely in south Punjab and upper Sindh during the period.

Friday

Partly cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, Pothohar region, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir. However, hot and dry weather is likely in other parts of the country, while rain-thunderstorm with gusty/dust raising winds in upper Sindh and northeast Balochistan.

Past 24-Hour Weather

Weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country, while very hot in plain areas. However, rain-wind/thunderstorm occurred in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, D.G. Khan, Jhelum and Sialkot.

Rainfall (mm): Kashmir: Kotli 05, Rawalakot 02, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Drosh 04, Mirkhani 03, Kalam 01, Punjab: Sialkot (AP 03, City 01) and Jhelum 01.

Yesterday’s Highest Maximum Temperature’s (°C): Dadu, Jacobabad, Sibbi, Nokkundi, Bhakkar, Nurpur Thal, Attock 47, Dalbandin, D.G. Khan, Peshawar, Bannu, Mandi Bahauddin, Sargodha and Jhelum 46.
