We look forward to enhanced climate cooperation with UAE: Minister Sherry Rehman

Islamabad, June 29, 2022 (PPI-OT):Federal Minister for Climate Change Senator Sherry Rehman, in a meeting with the UAE Ambassador H.E Hamad Obaid Ibrahimi Alzaabi, discussed bilateral relations between both countries and areas of cooperation. She also congratulated UAE on its selection to host the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).

She underscored that “UAE is an important partner of Pakistan and we highly value our brotherly relations.” Pakistan has signed a climate MoU with UAE on climate cooperation. Stressing the need for the operationalization of the climate MoU, Minister Rehman said, “This MoU is a step in the right direction and we look forward to further cooperation on tackling climate change in the country.

UAE has helped us in trying times and we are confident it will assist Pakistan in dealing with the climate catastrophe.” Federal Minister extended her support to H.E Hamad Obaid Ibrahimi Alzaabi for COP28 being hosted by UAE.
