Water Crisis in Asta Muhammad Alleviated Through Government Efforts

Asta Muhammad: Following directives from Provincial Health Minister Sardarzada Faisal Khan Jamali, the month-long drinking water crisis in Asta Muhammad has been effectively addressed.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the region faced severe water shortages due to a damaged gate at the Sukkur Barrage, which reduced water flow into the Kirthar Canal. This not only impacted agricultural activities but also left the community without clean drinking water. In response, Minister Jamali coordinated with local irrigation officials and Deputy Commissioner Asta Muhammad Jalil Ahmed to initiate emergency measures, including the use of lift machines to fill local water ponds.

The effort has led to the restoration of the Water Supply Scheme Phase One, ensuring daily access to potable water for residents starting Friday, August 2. Further work is underway on Phase Two, promising a continuation of improvements in water accessibility. Minister Jamali’s proactive approach has been widely recognized and appreciated, reflecting his commitment to resolving public service challenges.
