Kashmore, June 28, 2021 (PPI-OT): Special Assistant to CM Sindh for Chief Minister’s Inspection Team Waqar Mehdi, reached at the office of Deputy Commissioner Kashmore today and presided over meeting and reviewed the ongoing work of Kandhkot-Ghotki Bridge. The meeting was attended by MPA Mir Abid Khan Sundarani, Deputy Commissioner Munawar Ali Mithiani, Altaf Khoso, DG Inspection Team Ashfaq Shah, Project Director Shafiq Memon, ASP Hasnain Waris and officers of relevant departments. On this occasion, Mr. Tanveer Memon of RA Construction Company Giving a briefing on the ongoing work of Kandhkot-Ghotki Bridge to the Special Assistant to CM Sindh Waqar Mehdi.
He said that with the construction of bridge the distance between Ghotki-Kandhkot will be reduced and the people of both districts will benefit a lot. He said that work on the bridge has been going on for the last one and half years which will be completed in three years, Up to 1.5 million cusecs of water can flow easily through the bridge. Talking to media on the occasion, Waqar Mehdi, Special Assistant to CM Sindh, said that he was on the orders of party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari, came here to inspect the construction work of Kandhkot-Ghotki Bridge.
He said that, this bridge is 34 km long, being constructed at a cost of Rs 14 billion. He said that the project will be completed in three years under a public-private partnership and will provide employment opportunities to the people of both the districts. This project will a new era of development in Sindh, he added. With the efforts of Deputy Commissioner and SSP, security has been provided for the people working on the project. He said that PPP has served the people without any discrimination. 20% of the project work has been completed, he added.
He said that this is a big and important project of Sindh. He said that Sindh government is trying to complete this mega project within three years for the convenience of the people. He further said that project has also facing various problems including waiting for a report on land from Irrigation. He informed that more than 250 police persons are on duty at Ghotki Bridge day and night and we are trying to complete the work of the bridge within the stipulated time.
In response to a question, he said that since 2010 NFC award has not been received, our province’s water has also been stopped on this the PPP protested. The federal government of PTI is oppressing the PPP provincial government. Haleem Adil has got a budget of Rs. 40 crore for the constituency from which he has been elected but he has not spent a single penny there. The PTI government has drowned out politics, while the elected representatives of the PTI are also disgusted with the incompetence of their federal government.
