Islamabad, June 27, 2021 (PPI-OT):President Dr. Arif Alvi says Wafaqi Mohtasib is an excellent institution that provides ‘Insaf’ to complainants within 60 days. In a tweet today (Sunday), he said the institution has resolved more than 150,000 complaints during last year.
The President said Wafaqi Mohtasib also covers complaints regarding Gas, Electricity, Banks, Insurance and Tax, besides providing justice to women in cases of Harassment and Inheritance. Meanwhile, President Dr. Arif Alvi has asked the Banking Ombudsman to ensure quality of inquiry and address public grievances according to law.
Setting aside a decision of the Banking Mohtasib over dealing with the complaint of an account holder in an arbitrary manner, the President asked the Mohtasib to process and inquires the complaint of the account holder after affording him a due opportunity of hearing. A government employee had filed a representation with the President against the review order of the Banking Mohtasib wherein he was not rendered any relief to his grievance.
