Islamabad, Wafaqi Mohtasib, Mr. Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi, highlighted the role of public awareness in enhancing the effectiveness of the Ombudsman Institution during an online seminar titled ‘Building Public Awareness – An Essential Feature of Ombudsmanship,’ attended by notable figures including Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed.
According to Press Information Department, Mr. Qureshi emphasized the Ombudsman’s mission to provide speedy, cost-free resolution of public grievances, focusing particularly on assisting the marginalized sections of society. The seminar, part of efforts by the Asian Ombudsman Association, of which Pakistan is the president, discussed extending the reach of the Ombudsman to better address administrative injustices. Senator Hussain reiterated the need for the Ombudsman to connect with those affected by administrative oversights and malpractices. The event underscored the significance of inclusivity and technological integration in promoting good governance and rule of law through the Ombudsman’s office.
