Voters in Pakistan Cast Ballots Freely Amid Security Measures, Says Caretaker Prime MinisterCOAS Praises Successful Conduct of Pakistan’s General Elections 2024

Islamabad, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has stated that the general elections in Pakistan were conducted smoothly, allowing voters to exercise their constitutional rights freely and without any hindrance.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in an interview with Turkish broadcaster TRT, the Prime Minister highlighted that despite facing security challenges, the electoral process allowed people to vote for their preferred candidates freely. He emphasized that the overall conduct of the elections was free and fair, reflecting the will of the Pakistani populace.

Discussing the suspension of mobile services on the day of the elections, Kakar clarified that the decision was purely security-driven, aimed at mitigating potential threats, and devoid of any political motives. He reassured that while mobile services were temporarily halted, internet services remained accessible to the public.

Looking forward, the Prime Minister expressed optimism for the incoming government, hoping it would bring about political and economic stability for Pakistan. He anticipated the formation of a coalition government but noted that the arrangement would depend on negotiations among the political parties involved.

Islamabad, The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) has extended congratulations to the Pakistani nation, the Caretaker Government, the Election Commission of Pakistan, political parties, and all winning candidates for the successful conduct of the General Elections 2024. This election cycle was noted for the free and unhindered participation of the Pakistani people, showcasing their dedication to democracy and the rule of law as outlined in the Constitution of Pakistan.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the leadership and personnel of law enforcement agencies were particularly commended for their role in ensuring a safe and secure environment for the electoral process, overcoming significant challenges. The COAS also recognized the constructive contributions of the national media, civil society, civil administration, and judiciary, which together facilitated the largest electoral exercise in the nation’s history.



The statement further highlighted that the diverse and pluralistic nature of Pakistan’s polity would be aptly represented by a unified government, driven by a collective national purpose. Emphasizing the significance of elections and democracy as means to serve the Pakistani people, the COAS called for political leadership and workers to prioritize national interests over individual gains. The focus was on the need for a stable and cohesive approach to governance, moving away from divisive politics towards a more progressive and united Pakistan.
