Violence against detainees is intolerable, IG Punjab expresses anger over incident of violence against woman in Kasur Police Station 

Lahore, November 23, 2021 (PPI-OT):Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan presided an emergency meeting at CPO to give directions to Supervisory officers of Lahore and Sheikhupura ranges. He ordered the suspension of DSP Chung and SHO Nawab Town on the incident of firing between two groups in Lahore said that all the accused involved in the incident should be arrested as soon as possible and strict legal action should be taken. He directed that the security arrangements of the courts in all the districts of the province should be re-audited and security of the courts should be improved with the effective use of available resources.

Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that the supervisory officers should take immediate action on the incidents of abduction, torture, violence and abuse of children and women. No negligence shall be tolerated, he added. IG Punjab directed to take stern action against those involved in the manufacture, sale and use of metal strings of kites. Expressing anger over the incident of violence and torture against a woman at Kasur police station, he said that torture and inhumane treatment of the accused is intolerable. He directed to dismiss lady constable and police Official involved in the incident and said that immediate legal action should be taken against them.

IG Punjab while instructing the officers from Lahore and Sheikhupura regions said that RPOs and DPOs should go out in the field themselves and conduct inspections of police stations. He directed that those officers or officials who bring disrepute to the department by their words and deeds should be expelled from the department under zero tolerance. IG Punjab directed the officers of Lahore and Sheikhupura to resubmit their performance report after 7 days. On this occasion, CCPO Lahore, RPO Sheikhupura, DIG operations Lahore, DIG investigation Lahore, SSP operations Lahore and other officers were present.
