Violation of Constitution bigger crime than ‘stone pelting’

Srinagar, August 07, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the President of Jammu and Kashmir Awami National Conference (JKANC), Khalida Shah, has said that violation of Constitution is a bigger crime than stone pelting. Khalida Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar said, the BJP dishonoured the Constitution of India, the Supreme Court and the Parliament on 5th August 2019 in a brazen unconstitutional, undemocratic and illegal act in IIOJK.

She said, the harsh undemocratic and unconstitutional stance adopted by the present dispensation in New Delhi has reached its peak in demolishing the constitutional rights of the people. The spontaneous shutdown against the 5th August 2019 constitutional disaster and the action of the administration forcing the business and trade community to open their establishments prompting them with dire consequences, speaks volumes of the ground situation in Kashmir.

Khalida Shah said, reality of the ground situation in IIOJK is totally opposite to what the BJP and its Godi media is feeding the masses in India. Where is the development, where are the jobs, where are the projects, why is the youth frustrated, why is Kashmir turned in to a police state with harassment at every nook and corner, asked Khalida Shah.

She said, it is high time the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his colleagues understand the pain and suffering of the people of Kashmir. The constitutional guarantees provided to Kashmir under Indian Constitution will have to be restored, the sooner the better, she added.
