Various initiatives launched to ensure continuation of learning as a response to Covid-19: Shafqat

Islamabad, June 24, 2021 (PPI-OT):Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood says the government in collaboration with the World Bank has launched initiatives to ensure the continuation of learning as a response to Covid-19 pandemic. He was talking to Country Director of World Bank Najy Benhassine in Islamabad today (Thursday).

The Minister said these projects include Covid-19 Response, Recovery and Resilience in Education Project, Pandemic Response Emergency Program and Tele School TV channel and Radio school projects. He said the ministry in collaboration with UNICEF will also upgrade the digital contents and start a teachers training program on a large scale with the help of technology.

Shafqat Mahmood said the World Bank is also providing grant of 250 million dollars to the ministry for the project “Action to Strengthen Performance for inclusive and Responsive Education Program” to address schools disruptions due to Covid-19.
