Use of brute force, arrest of protesters in Srinagar condemned

Srinagar, November 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Acting Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML), Abdul Ahad Parra has condemned the use of brute force and arrest of the protesting family members and civil society activists by Indian police during a sit-in protest in Srinagar against the killing of civilians by Indian troops in a fake encounter.

Abdul Ahad Parra in a statement in Srinagar said anywhere in the world, the protesters are not beaten and arrested for seeking justice. He said the people of Kashmir are living in an environment where they are neither handed over the dead bodies of the martyrs nor allowed to raise their voice against the killers.

Abdul Ahad Parra deplored that Indian police used brute force and arrested the protesting family members and civil society activists during a protest against the killing of civilians including Dr Mudasir and Altaf Ahmad, who were martyred in a fake encounter in Hyderpora area of Srinagar on Monday night.

He appealed to the world community and international human rights organizations to play their role in providing justice to the oppressed people of the occupied territory and put pressure on India to settle the lingering Kashmir dispute according to the UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
