Dallas, Ghazala Habib, Chairperson of Friends of Kashmir International, has labeled India as an international terrorist country, citing US Deputy Secretary for South Asia Donald Lowe’s statement as confirmation of India’s state-sponsored terrorism activities within the United States.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Ghazala Habib stated that Donald Lowe’s testimony before the US House of Representatives Committee revealed the involvement of Indian officials in a plot to assassinate Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a prominent Khalistan movement leader in the US. This revelation, she asserted, has significantly tarnished India’s global reputation.
Habib pointed to Narendra Modi’s controversial past, highlighting the US’s previous ban on his entry before he became India’s Prime Minister due to his alleged involvement in the Gujarat riots. She also referenced Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s disclosure last year of India’s involvement in the assassination of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nagar in Canada, which led to diplomatic tensions and the expulsion of India’s RAW station chief from the country.
The statement further noted the implication of Indian intelligence agency RAW in the killings of Sikh leaders not only in Canada but also in Britain and the United States. Habib claimed that these actions have prompted Western countries, particularly the US, Canada, and Britain, to pressure RAW to cease its operations within their territories.
Ghazala Habib highlighted that US officials managed to thwart the assassination plot on their soil, resulting in the arrest of an Indian citizen linked to the conspiracy.
The allegations, if confirmed, represent a significant escalation in the scrutiny of India’s international activities and raise serious concerns about state-sponsored terrorism. The international community’s response to these developments remains to be seen.
