Peshawar, In a significant meeting held at the Chief Minister House in Peshawar, US Consul General Shantimore and the caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Justice (retd) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah, engaged in detailed discussions on Tuesday regarding bilateral relations and cooperation. The dialogue focused on enhancing collaboration between the provincial government and American development agencies across various sectors.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the meeting centered on issues of mutual interest, particularly the ongoing cooperation in social sectors. Caretaker Chief Minister Arshad Hussain Shah emphasized the provincial government’s appreciation for the support from the American government and its agencies in fields including police, education, health, and agriculture. He acknowledged the need for continued and intensified collaboration, especially in the developmentally lagging merged tribal districts, which have suffered from decades of insecurity.
Chief Minister Shah highlighted the critical requirement for building basic infrastructure in these war-torn areas, with a focus on road construction, law enforcement, and the provision of education and health facilities. He reiterated the government’s priority in strengthening police and other law enforcement agencies and expressed eagerness for American assistance in these endeavors.
In his address, American Consul General Shantimore reaffirmed the commitment of the American government to continue public welfare works in partnership with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. He stressed the enduring and friendly relations between Pakistan and America, expressing intentions to further strengthen and stabilize these ties.
The meeting is seen as a step towards bolstering bilateral relations and enhancing cooperative efforts for mutual benefits, particularly in sectors critical for the development and stability of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s merged tribal regions.
