Srinagar, The city of Srinagar in occupied Jammu and Kashmir witnessed significant religious celebrations as the Urs of the esteemed Sufi saint, Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani, commonly known as Dastgeer Sahib (RA), was observed.
According to a news release by Kashmir Media Service, the shrine of Dastgeer Sahab (RA) at Khanyar in Srinagar became a focal point of devotion, with thousands making their way to catch a glimpse of the sacred relic and offer their respects. Throughout the day, an unending stream of worshippers continued to visit the shrine.
In addition to the main observance at Khanyar, the Urs festivities were also prominent at the Saraibala and Rah Baba Sahib shrines located within the city. In a show of deep reverence and commitment, various shrines throughout Kashmir hosted night-long prayers on the night leading up to the Urs. Furthermore, congregational prayers marked the occasion at Masjid Sharief Dastgeer Sahib (RA) situated in Nowhamam, Sopore.
