Urgent Anti-Encroachment Drive Initiated in Islamabad

Islamabad, In a move to address illegal constructions and misuse of government accommodations, Dr. Shahzad Khan Bangash, Secretary of Housing and Works, has directed an immediate crackdown on encroachments in Islamabad. This directive comes in response to concerns over unlawful additions and subletting in federal government-owned residential properties.

According to Press Information Department, the directives were issued during a meeting chaired by Dr. Bangash, emphasizing the enforcement of strict regulations against unauthorized constructions and commercial use of government houses. The meeting resolved to issue notices to violators, with stern actions planned against property dealers who facilitate such breaches.

The Secretary highlighted previous successful drives, referencing a 2018 Supreme Court directive that resulted in the reclaiming of over 2,200 houses. The current drive aims to maintain the integrity of federal accommodations and uphold the law, ensuring that government properties are used appropriately and in accordance with established rules.
