Urban Forestry Urged as Key to Tackling Climate Challenges

Islamabad: Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Climate Change, Romina Khurshid Alam, has called for a stronger focus on urban forests as a solution to environmental challenges. Ms. Alam made the remarks at a tree plantation event organized by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Nestlé Pakistan, where the goal was to plant one hundred thousand trees.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to climate action, Ms. Alam emphasized the role of urban forests in sustainable urban ecosystems. She urged collaboration from the private sector and civil society to enhance environmental resilience.
