Upper caste Hindus attack, injure 5 Dalit youth in Karnataka 

Mysore, January 20, 2022 (PPI-OT):Five Dalit youth were injured after they were assaulted by upper caste Hindus for enjoying pani puri in Arasinakere village in the Indian state of Karnataka. According to Kashmir Media Service, in their complaint to Jayapura police in Mysore, the Dalit youth said that they were beaten up for entering an upper-caste area of the village to eat pani puri.

Local people had approached the Jayapura police and maintained that a few men had assaulted the Dalit youths. All the five injured in the assault were treated at KR Hospital in Mysore. The incident took place on January 13. The police said that four persons were arrested in connection with the assault.
