Turbat: The fourth meeting of the Affiliation Committee of the University of Turbat convened recently under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor Baluch, Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Literature. The committee focused on enhancing the quality of education and strengthening relationships with affiliated colleges, along with discussing the transition from an annual examination system to a semester system.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting highlighted the importance of coordinating more effectively with affiliated colleges and the Department of Education, Government of Balochistan. There was a consensus on the need for regular meetings of the Affiliation Committee to ensure continuous improvement in educational standards.
The session also addressed several key issues including the upgrading of facilities, updating standard operating procedures in laboratories, and the adherence to accreditation criteria and procedures for programs. Dr. Abdul Saboor informed the committee about a letter previously sent to the Education Department which outlined various concerns such as affiliation fees, the availability of qualified faculty members, and the necessity for regular visits to affiliated colleges to ensure compliance with the prescribed criteria.
The committee agreed on several actions to enhance the affiliation process and academic programs. Decisions were made to improve the curriculum and complete all relevant documents related to the affiliation of colleges. Furthermore, the committee decided that their next meeting will be held on September 25 to continue their discussions and monitor progress on the agreed actions.
