Uniform Civil Code is threat to Indian secularism, constitution speakers

Bhopal, July 05, 2023 (PPI-OT): Speakers at a meeting of intellectuals of all religions in Madhya Pradesh termed the Uniform Civil Code as a threat to the secularism in India and the constitution. The meeting was organized by Rashtriya Secular Manch in Bhopal Gandhi Bhavan. Intellectuals of all religions involved in the meeting termed the Uniform Civil Code as a threat to the secular mood of India and also against the spirit of the Constitution.

Intellectuals termed the Modi government’s stand on the Uniform Civil Code as hasty and also a means of gaining political interest. President of Rashtriya Secular Manch Laja Shankar in a special conversation with an Urdu media outlet said that the elections are on the head and we consider it a part of politics.

Dapa three hundred seventy, Ram Mandir and Uniform Civil Code are the three slogans of BJP. Section 370 has been implemented in Jammu and Kashmir. Ram temple has been built and uniform civil code is wanted to be implemented. The country has no need for a uniform civil code. And neither do the people of this country want it. It is a conspiracy and an attempt to win elections and nothing more.

There, Shailinder Shelley says that the Modi government at the Nosala center is talking about uniform civil code to distract from inflation, livelihood and basic issues. There is a poem. Madhya Pradesh Jamiat Ulema President Haji Mohammad Haroon says that the constitution of India has given freedom to people of all religions to follow their personal law. The ruling is one for all. This is not possible in the country which is being abandoned. It is a country of different colours and races and religions and all of them follow their own traditions and live together in the country. But the way they are trying to paint the country in saffron colour is impossible.

While prominent intellectual Dr. Ali Abbas Omid said that PM Modi came to Bhopal and he made political noises for the backward Muslims. I want to ask that the backward are not only Muslims in every nation and what has been done for them. Backwardness is not related to religion but economy and the government has nothing to do with it. They are only misleading by talking.
