Unidentified Gunmen Kill Non-Kashmiri Vendor in Bijbehara


Srinagar, In a violent incident in the Islamabad district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), unidentified gunmen fatally shot Raja Shah, a non-Kashmiri vendor originally from Bihar, India.



According to Kashmir Media Service, the attack occurred in the Bijbehara area of the district, where Shah was critically injured at close range. He was quickly transported to a local hospital in Bijbehara, where he later died from his injuries. Officials confirmed that Shah sustained gunshot wounds to the neck and abdomen.



Following the incident, Indian forces initiated a comprehensive cordon and search operation, blocking all entry and exit points in the area. Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Kashmir, Vidhi Kumar Birdi, stated to the media that a thorough investigation is underway and efforts to apprehend the attackers are ongoing. “He was a vendor by profession. We are investigating and a massive search operation to nab the attackers is underway,” said IGP Birdi.



In a related security action, Indian troops arrested two youths in another part of Bijbehara, alleging the recovery of weapons and ammunition and justifying the arrests as necessary for public safety.
