Islamabad, Philippa Candler, the Representative of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), met with Federal Secretary for Interior Aftab Akbar Durrani in Islamabad. The meeting focused on Pakistan’s role in dealing with illegal immigrants.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the meeting, Candler appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in facilitating the departure of illegal immigrants from the country. She acknowledged Pakistan’s long history of hosting refugees and discussed the recent operations against foreigners residing illegally in the nation. This meeting signifies the ongoing collaboration and dialogue between Pakistan and international organizations like the UNHCR on matters of mutual interest, especially concerning refugees and immigration.
