UNHCR and PPAF Join Forces to Support Afghan Refugees in Pakistan

Islamabad, In an effort to bolster the livelihoods of Afghan refugee families in Pakistan, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has partnered with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF). The collaboration aims to provide essential livelihood assets to over 3,000 Afghan families residing in refugee camps across various districts.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, this initiative, currently in its fourth phase, focuses on districts Nowshera, Quetta, Pishin, and Islamabad. The program is designed to enhance self-reliance among Afghan refugees by imparting transferable skills, which can be utilized in both Pakistan and Afghanistan. The first distribution phase involves the allocation of 1,200 livelihood assets across Turkmen, Khesgi, and Akora Khattak camps in District Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
