Mumbai, December 02, 2022 (PPI-OT):The unemployment rate in India rose to a three-month high of 8 percent in November from 7.77 percent in October, showed data released by a private think tank based in Mumbai.
The November unemployment numbers released by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) showed that the rate of joblessness was higher in urban areas than in rural regions. As per the report, unemployment rate was 8.96 percent in November in urban areas as compared to 7.55% in rural regions, the data showed.
In October, the unemployment rate was 7.21 percent in urban India and 8.04 percent in rural areas, the data showed. It said that the unemployment rate in November was the highest in Haryana at 30.6 percent.
