UNDP and IPO-Pakistan Explore Collaboration on Intellectual Property and Innovation


Islamabad, In a significant meeting at the Intellectual Property Organization Pakistan (IPO-Pakistan) headquarters, UNDP Resident Representative Samuel Rizk and IPO-Pakistan Chairman Farukh Amil discussed the pivotal role of intellectual property rights in fostering innovation and protecting creative works. The collaboration aims to enhance awareness and innovation within Pakistan, reflecting a mutual commitment to leveraging intellectual property for national development.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting highlighted the critical importance of intellectual property rights in safeguarding innovation, creative endeavors, and unique products. The dialogue covered various facets of intellectual property rights, including copyrights, patents, and Geographic Indications, underscoring the comprehensive scope of their potential cooperation.



The discussions between Rizk and Amil focused on opportunities for collaboration between the UNDP and IPO-Pakistan, particularly in raising awareness about intellectual property rights and promoting innovation across the country. This initiative is expected to contribute significantly to Pakistan’s creative and economic sectors by ensuring the protection of intellectual assets and encouraging the development of new ideas and products.
