Islamabad, With the impending deadline looming, the repatriation process of illegal foreign nationals, notably Afghans, from Pakistan intensifies. The government has reiterated its position, mandating all undocumented foreigners to exit the country by the end of this month or face legal consequences.
According to a news release by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Pakistan’s commitment to this directive remains unwavering, evidenced by the consistent voluntary repatriation of Afghans residing in the country without proper documentation. To date, 72,219 Afghan nationals have been returned to their homeland. Highlighting the scale of this operation, just yesterday, 4,239 Afghans, transported in 112 vehicles, made their journey back across the Torkham and Chaman borders.
The swift return of these undocumented Afghan residents to their native country is anticipated to yield favorable repercussions for the regional stability and mutual relations of both nations.
