Khuzdar: The United Nations Security Council has issued a strong condemnation of the terrorist attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, which resulted in the deaths of at least six Pakistani nationals, including four children. The attack, described as both heinous and cowardly, also left fifty-three people injured, with thirty-nine of them being children.
In a press statement, the Security Council expressed its deepest sympathy and condolences to the families affected, as well as to the Government and people of Pakistan. The Council extended wishes for a speedy and full recovery to those injured in the attack.
The council reiterated its stance that terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations, poses one of the most serious threats to international peace and security.
Security Council members emphasized the importance of holding accountable those responsible for organizing, financing, and supporting such acts of terrorism. They called for all nations to actively cooperate with Pakistan, in line with international law and Security Council resolutions, to bring perpetrators to justice.
Reaffirming previous commitments, the Security Council declared that acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of the motivation behind them, or the identity of those who commit them. They underscored the need for a united global effort, in accordance with the United Nations Charter and international law, to combat threats posed by terrorism to international peace and security.
