Islamabad: The United Nations has reiterated that its stance on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute has not altered, emphasizing the need for a peaceful resolution in line with international norms.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a press briefing in New York, Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary General, Farhan Haq, stated that any final settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir issue must be achieved through peaceful means. This approach should adhere to the principles outlined in the Charter of the United Nations, with a strong emphasis on full respect for human rights.

This statement comes amidst ongoing tensions and conflicts in the region, highlighting the international body’s commitment to a diplomatic and just solution.
