Geneva, UN Human Rights Chief Volker Türk emphasized the critical need to protect Gaza’s land crossings to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to its civilian population. In a recent statement, he highlighted the essential nature of these crossings for the distribution of food, medicine, fuel, and other necessities vital for survival.
According to Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Türk condemned all hostile actions that jeopardize these vital routes. He urged both parties in the conflict to exercise special care to keep the crossings operational and safe from direct or indirect harm. The Human Rights Chief reiterated the necessity for both sides to cease military actions that could endanger these crucial passageways.
Türk also renewed his call for an immediate ceasefire and stressed the importance of ensuring that humanitarian aid reaches all Palestinians in Gaza without delay, meeting the full scope of their needs amidst the ongoing conflict.
