New York: In response to the increasing concerns over maritime trade disruptions, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has announced the formation of a special task force to tackle issues arising from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The decision aims to mitigate potential impacts on global trade and supply chains.
According to Radio Pakistan, UN Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric emphasized during a news conference that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz could have significant repercussions on humanitarian needs and agricultural production worldwide. The task force will focus on addressing these challenges and formulating strategies to ensure the continuity of maritime trade.
