UN Envoy and Pakistan Law Minister Discuss Global Efforts to Address Islamophobia

ISLAMABAD: UN Special Envoy to Combat Islamophobia Miguel Ángel Moratinos met with Pakistan’s Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar in Islamabad to discuss international strategies aimed at combating Islamophobia and enhancing collaboration on human rights issues.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting focused on the United Nations’ initiatives to address religious intolerance globally. Minister Tarar expressed support for the UN’s efforts, recognizing them as crucial steps towards reducing Islamophobia worldwide.

The Minister also reiterated Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to fostering religious freedom, interfaith dialogue, and peaceful coexistence. The discussions highlighted the importance of continued cooperation between the UN and Pakistan in promoting mutual understanding and respect among diverse communities.
