UN declared March 15 as Int’l Day to Combat Islamophobia” a result of PTI Govt’s struggle: PM

Islamabad, March 16, 2022 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Imran Khan says the incumbent government struggled for three years and at last succeeded in passing a landmark resolution at the United Nations, designating March 15 as “International Day to Combat Islamophobia.”

Addressing a public gathering at grassy ground in Saidu Sharif, Swat on Wednesday afternoon, he said some elements in the West has always committed blasphemy of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) in the name of freedom of expression. He said the Muslim community in the west suffered the most from Islamophobia. The Prime Minister said terrorists have no religion and Islam has nothing to do with terrorism but the west has always linked Islam with terrorism.

He said JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman did nothing in the service of Islam in his thirty years of politics. Criticizing the fascist Indian regime, Imran Khan said the Karnataka court has banned wearing of head scarf for women which is the worst example of Islamophobia.

He said the PTI government has steered the country out of difficult times including corona and economic instability. Imran Khan said the whole world has acknowledged our strategy during the Covid pandemic. He said the government has achieved record production of wheat, maize and rice besides record revenue generation through tax reforms.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan saw four hundred drone attacks from 2008 to 2018 but the past regimes could not even condemn these attacks because they have billions of dollars abroad and off-shore companies. He said the opposition parties are busy in horse trading for the no-confidence vote. Earlier, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan and Federal Minister for Communication Murad Saeed also addressed the gathering.
