Islamabad, The United Nations in Pakistan, along with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, have expressed grave concerns following a series of attacks on girls’ schools in the Merged Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, resulting in the destruction of four schools within a month. The UN supports the Prime Minister’s call to protect girls’ education rights and his pledge to repair and reopen the damaged schools.
According to United Nations Pakistan, the organization is alarmed by these attacks and supports the Prime Minister’s efforts to bring those responsible to justice. This commitment is part of a broader education emergency declared by the Prime Minister aimed at enrolling 26 million out-of-school children. The safety and security of schools, especially in remote and vulnerable areas, is deemed crucial for this initiative.
The United Nations in Pakistan has pledged to assist in the rehabilitation and reopening of these schools, emphasizing the importance of an inclusive educational environment free from fear and intimidation for fostering a prosperous Pakistan.
