UK’s Special Representative on Afghanistan, Pakistan, COAS discuss regional security situation

Islamabad, November 24, 2021 (PPI-OT):UK’s Special Representative on Afghanistan and Pakistan Nigel Casey called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi today (Wednesday) and discussed regional security situation including the recent developments in Afghanistan.

The Army Chief said Pakistan values UK’s role in global and regional affairs and it looks forward to enhance bilateral relationship. The Army Chief also reiterated the need for global convergence on Afghanistan for avoiding humanitarian crisis and coordinated efforts to economic uplift of the Afghan people. He reemphasized that peace in Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan. The UK’s Special Representative on Afghanistan and Pakistan appreciated Pakistan’s role in Afghan situation, special efforts for border management, role in regional stability.
