UAE Naval Commander Honored with Nishan-e-Imtiaz for Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) to Major General Humaid Abdulla Alremeithi, Commander of the UAE Naval Forces, at a ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday. The award recognizes his role in enhancing defense relations between Pakistan and the UAE.

The event was attended by Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, parliamentarians, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and other senior military officials.

During a subsequent meeting, President Zardari highlighted the award as a testament to Major General Alremeithi’s significant contributions. He noted that the Commander’s visit underscores the strong and lasting ties between the two nations.

President Zardari emphasized the robust defense partnership, praising the UAE Navy’s involvement in the Aman Dialogue-25 and Exercise Aman-25. He assured continued support from the Pakistan Navy for the UAE Navy’s manpower needs.

The President called for enhanced collaboration between the naval forces of both countries. He reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthen the bilateral relations, which are rooted in historical and people-to-people connections.

Major General Alremeithi expressed his deep connections with Pakistan, citing his time spent at the Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi.
