Islamabad, In a significant diplomatic engagement today, H. E. Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Pakistan, met with Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad. The meeting was notably marked by the UAE Ambassador extending a formal invitation to the Prime Minister to attend the upcoming COP-28 climate change conference in Abu Dhabi. The Ambassador acknowledged Pakistan’s vital role in climate change negotiations and expressed hope for Pakistan’s substantial contribution to the success of COP-28.
According to Press Information Department, the meeting also focused on the progress of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE. Prime Minister Kakar expressed satisfaction with the robust and diverse engagement between the two nations, emphasizing the importance of further strengthening ties, particularly in the sectors of energy, trade, and investment. Additionally, the Prime Minister raised concerns about the ongoing situation in Gaza, calling for a united stance from Muslim countries to prompt the international community to halt the violence and atrocities committed against civilians in Gaza by Israeli forces. The meeting underscores the strategic partnership between Pakistan and the UAE and their shared interests in addressing global and regional issues.
