Karachi: In a significant meeting at the Governor House, newly appointed U.S. Consul General Scott Urbom convened with Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesuri to discuss various bilateral matters, including enhancing trade and investment. The discussions underscored the strategic importance of diplomatic relations and economic cooperation between the United States and Pakistan.
According to Sindh Governor House, Governor Tesuri congratulated Urbom on his new role and expressed optimism about the positive impact his tenure could have on the province’s economic environment. The Governor highlighted the critical role of the Consul General in fostering increased American investment and trade activities in Sindh. He pointed out that the region’s sustained peace is crucial for attracting investment, and noted that initiatives like the Sindh Investment Facilitation Center (SIFC) are actively encouraging investor engagement, with full support from the local administration.
On his part, Consul General Urbom acknowledged the peaceful atmosphere in the province and praised the sincerity of its people. He reiterated the United States’ desire to see Pakistan prosper and emphasized that the two nations are natural allies with shared interests in regional stability and economic growth.
