Islamabad: In a meeting held today in Islamabad, the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy, Ms. Natalie Baker, met with Pakistan’s Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, to discuss mutual interests and the potential for enhanced bilateral defense cooperation.
During the talks, both officials highlighted the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and the United States, focusing on mutual respect and shared goals for regional stability and prosperity.
The discussions included an assessment of the positive trajectory in bilateral relations, with both sides expressing satisfaction over the renewed momentum and warmth between the two nations.
Ms. Baker and Mr. Asif also acknowledged Pakistan’s growing role in the international community as a responsible and forward-looking partner.
The situation in Afghanistan was a significant point of discussion. Both parties emphasized the need for a peaceful and stable Afghanistan, noting that challenges from the country should be addressed to ensure regional peace and stability.
