U.S. Ambassador Blome Highlights Strong Bilateral Ties and Religious Freedom at Independence Day Event in Lahore

Lahore: During a celebration of the 248th anniversary of U.S. independence in Lahore, U.S. Ambassador Donald A. Blome, alongside U.S. Consul General Lahore Kristin K. Hawkins, underscored the enduring partnership between the United States and Pakistan. The event emphasized several key collaborative efforts such as trade, investment, climate initiatives, and cultural exchanges.

According to Embassy of the United States of America, Ambassador Blome articulated a commitment to supporting Pakistan in enhancing democratic institutions, economic opportunities, and fundamental freedoms. He praised the contributions of U.S. businesses in Pakistan for their role in job creation, women’s economic inclusion, and corporate social responsibility. In addition to the festivities, Ambassador Blome’s visit included significant engagements with religious communities, reinforcing the U.S. stance on religious freedom by meeting with Ahmadi representatives and visiting the Cathedral Church of the Resurrection, where he advocated for peaceful coexistence and freedom of worship.
