Two Police Officers Killed in Rajanpur Highway Collision While Pursuing Smugglers

Rajanpur: In a tragic incident on the Indus Highway near Khetran Pump, Rajanpur, two police officers were killed when their police van collided with a truck while pursuing narcotics smugglers. The officers, Atta Ullah and Muhammad Kashif, lost their lives, while Sub-Inspector Muhammad Zeeshan sustained injuries.

According to Punjab Police, the Rajanpur police team was following a lead on the transportation of illegal alcohol when the collision occurred. The injured officer was quickly taken to District Headquarters Hospital, where he is receiving specialized medical treatment. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has taken notice of the incident and requested a detailed report from the Regional Police Officer of Dera Ghazi Khan. He emphasized providing the injured officer with the best medical care available.

Dr. Anwar paid tribute to the deceased officers, stating, “The brave officers who have laid down their lives in the line of duty are a source of immense pride for us all. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.” He highlighted the importance of supporting the families of the martyrs and instructed the District Police Officer of Rajanpur to ensure they receive comprehensive assistance.
