Two Indian CRPF Personnel Die by Suicide in Separate Incidents

New Delhi: In two separate incidents, two personnel from the Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have ended their lives. The tragedies occurred in Chhattisgarh and Haryana, sparking concerns about mental health and welfare measures within the force.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Head Constable Vipin Chandra of the CRPF’s 195th Battalion committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle at the battalion’s barracks in Dantewada district, Chhattisgarh. The barracks are situated under the jurisdiction of the Barsoor police station.

In a distinct but equally tragic incident, CRPF personnel Gulab Singh died by suicide after shooting himself in Baltana-Zirakpur, Haryana. Singh was assigned to the CRPF camp in Behlana, Chandigarh. Reports from local police suggest that Singh had been struggling with alcohol addiction and was undergoing emotional distress prior to the incident.
