ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have arrested two individuals in connection with a robbery and murder case, as part of an ongoing crackdown on street crime in the federal capital. The arrests come under directives from Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at curbing criminal activities in the city.
The Shams Colony police team identified the suspects as Arshad Khalid and Kahaf. They were apprehended following a thorough investigation into a robbery and murder incident that occurred within the jurisdiction of the Shams Colony police station.
Authorities recovered two pistols and a mobile phone believed to be used and taken in the crimes. During initial questioning, the suspects admitted to committing several street crimes, targeting pedestrians and shopkeepers. They reportedly resorted to violence, firing weapons when met with resistance.
After committing these crimes, Khalid and Kahaf fled to Karachi, but police efforts led to their successful capture. The operation highlights the Islamabad Police’s commitment to ensuring public safety.
Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq emphasized ongoing efforts to protect citizens and maintain public order. He urged residents to assist law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities to their nearest police station or through the emergency helpline, Pucar-15.
