Two Alleged Naxal Members Killed by Indian Forces in Separate Incidents


Bhopal: Indian security forces have killed two individuals, including a woman, in separate incidents in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, amid ongoing violence related to the Naxalite movement.



According to Kashmir Media Service, in Madhya Pradesh, Indian police fatally shot a man identified as Ukas alias Sohan, aged between 30 and 35, during an operation in the Kotiyagala area under the jurisdiction of the Godri police station. Police have labeled Sohan as a member of the Naxal movement, which has been active in demanding independence from India. Sohan was a resident of Puvarti village in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.



In a related incident in Chhattisgarh, combined forces of the Border Security Force (BSF), District Reserve Guard (DRG), and Bastar Fighters conducted a cordon and search operation in Kanker, resulting in the death of a woman. The Superintendent of Police, Indira Kalyan Elesela, identified the woman as a member of the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army.



This year, Indian forces have reportedly killed as many as 139 people in Chhattisgarh, labeling them as Naxals, in various operations and alleged fake encounters.
