New Delhi, June 22, 2022 (PPI-OT):Twitter, the microblogging and social networking website, has withheld the account of renowned journalist, author, and analyst, CJ Werleman, for his posts against racial policies of Modi-led ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in India. The Twitter in its notification said, “In order to comply with Twitter’s obligations under India’s local laws, we have withheld the following account in India under country’s Information Technology Act 2000.”

Commenting on the Twitter’s discriminatory act, CJ Werleman who is global correspondent for Byline Times. Host of the CJ Werleman Show and activist against Islamophobia, said, it has been verified that “Twitter is operating as a protection racket for the Indian government: my account has now been withheld in India because of demands made by the far-right, Hindu fascist regime of Narendra Modi. How is this ok?” He asked why Twitter withheld his account while he did not violate India’s laws or Twitter’s user policies. “Twitter is now complicit in helping the Modi regime cover up its persecution of Muslims.”
