Turkmen Foreign Minister Meets with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Discuss Bilateral Ties


Islamabad: Rashid Meredov, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, met with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today, engaging in discussions aimed at bolstering bilateral relations between the two nations.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting reflected a mutual interest in strengthening diplomatic and economic ties. Prime Minister Sharif reminisced about his recent meeting with Turkmenistan’s Grand Leader, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in Astana and expressed enthusiasm about welcoming him to Pakistan soon. The discussions underscored the successful conduct of the 3rd Round of Pakistan-Turkmenistan Bilateral Political Consultations and emphasized the necessity of regular institutional engagements.



Sharif also highlighted opportunities for enhancing trade, economic, investment, and cultural relations. He extended an invitation to Turkmen companies to explore the favorable investment climate in Pakistan, particularly emphasizing the supportive role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). Furthermore, he reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional cooperation and connectivity, specifically the early completion of the TAPI Pipeline and other significant connectivity projects.
