Islamabad, In a bid to bolster economic ties, Turkiye has articulated its ambition to elevate its trade volume with Pakistan beyond the $5 billion threshold.
According to a news release by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador of Turkiye, Mehmet Pacaci, conveyed this objective while speaking on ‘Pakistan-Turkiye Relations: An Enduring Partnership’. The diplomat expressed concerns over the existing trade volume between the two nations, noting that the current figures haven’t reached their full potential, lingering significantly below the billion-dollar mark.
Pacaci further highlighted the operational Free Trade Agreement between Turkiye and Pakistan, emphasizing its role in fostering renewed collaboration. The agreement, he suggests, is a testament to the nations’ commitment to enhancing their commercial relationship.
In a sign of deepening business ties, over fifty Turkish companies are currently active within Pakistan, and the number is poised to rise. With the ambassador citing a plethora of opportunities in both industrial and other sectors, the trajectory indicates a promising future for Turko-Pakistani trade and investment collaborations.
