ISLAMABAD: The National Police Academy in Islamabad hosted an impressive passing-out parade for Assistant Superintendents of Police (Under Training), marking the conclusion of the 27th Initial Command Course and the 51st Specialized Training Programme. The ceremony was highlighted by the attendance of the Turkish Interior Minister, His Excellency Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, who served as the Chief Guest.
In his address, Mr. Yerlikaya congratulated the graduating officers on their successful completion of the 18-month training program. He commended the National Police Academy’s role in preparing capable officers for the Police Service of Pakistan. He underscored the importance of law enforcement in maintaining national stability and socio-economic growth, and praised the police services for their ongoing efforts against terrorism.
Mr. Muhammad Idrees Ahmed, Commandant of the National Police Academy, welcomed the Chief Guest and praised the 18 graduating officers, which included eight women. He detailed the comprehensive training, which encompassed subjects such as police management, criminal justice administration, and anti-terrorism tactics. The curriculum is regularly updated to reflect modern policing trends and challenges.
The Commandant highlighted the Academy’s commitment to providing quality training to various law enforcement agencies. This includes capacity-building courses for personnel from the Frontier Constabulary, FIA, and provincial Rangers.
The ceremony concluded with the Chief Guest reviewing the parade and presenting awards to outstanding graduates. Capt. (R) Muhammad Sohaib Amin received the best in parade and best in physical (male) awards, while Ms. Ammara Sattar was recognized as the all-round best, as well as best in academics.
The event was attended by a large gathering of police officers, government representatives, foreign diplomats, and families of the graduates, underscoring the importance of the occasion.
