Islamabad: A high-level defence delegation from the Republic of Türkiye, led by Lieutenant General Fedai Ünsal, Vice Chief of Staff, visited the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Headquarters in Islamabad. The visit aimed to discuss cooperation in disaster management and included senior officers from the Turkish Armed Forces.
According to Press Information Department, the delegation received a briefing on NDMA’s technology-driven disaster management approach, which includes multi-hazard early warning systems, real-time data integration, and national preparedness mechanisms. Chairman NDMA Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik highlighted the Authority’s strategic shift toward risk reduction and community resilience.
Both sides exchanged views on disaster preparedness and crisis coordination, focusing on cooperation in disaster risk reduction and resilience-building. The delegation also visited NDMA’s Center of Excellence and other facilities to learn about Pakistan’s capabilities in professional training and logistics management. The Turkish delegation praised NDMA’s efforts and expressed a commitment to continued collaboration through knowledge exchange and capacity-building programs.
