Turbat Committees Formed to Address Local Issues in Balochistan

Turbat: In an effort to tackle regional public issues, the District Council Catch of Balochistan Local Government has established several committees across various government departments. These committees are designed to facilitate more effective governance and focus on a range of specific areas including border retirement, health, women empowerment, youth and sports, agriculture, and forest management.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the decision to set up these committees was made on May 1, 2024, during a district council meeting. A formal notification was issued on 25th September 2024, detailing the committee structures and their members. Each committee consists of UC Chairpersons along with members from the Zilla Council Catch.

The detailed composition of the committees is as follows:

1. The Border Retirement Committee is chaired by Mir Hotman Baloch with members including Mir Bahad Jameel Dashti, Barkat Ali, Shay Nazir Ahmad, Khan Muhammad, Nazir Ahmad, and Ghulam Hussain.

2. The Health Committee is led by Bahauddin Baloch with Nusrat Ali, Rustam Khan Bizenjo, Abdul Latif, and Mehrab Khan as members.

3. Amina Habib chairs the Women Empowerment Committee, with Morward and Sabra as members.

4. The Youth and Sports Committee is headed by Faraz Hakeem, and includes Nowroz Amin, Rahmatullah, Nadeem Shambezai, and Abdullah.

5. Kahida Aziz Ahmed leads the Agriculture and Forest Committee with members Basit Ali, Muhammad Aslam, Shaukat Ali, and Bashir Ahmed.

6. The Kesco Committee is chaired by Abdul Ghafoor, along with other unnamed members.

These committees are expected to bring significant improvements in the governance and resolution of local issues within the region.
