Tsitsipas and Rune Secure Quarterfinal Spots at Barcelona Open


Barcelona: Stefanos Tsitsipas has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Barcelona Open following a challenging match against American Sebastian Korda. The Greek player secured his spot with a 7-6(4), 6-4 victory, continuing his pursuit of a first title in Catalonia. Tsitsipas, a four-time finalist at the event, is set to face Frenchman Arthur Fils in the next round. Fils moved forward after defeating Spaniard Pedro Martinez in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.



Meanwhile, Denmark’s Holger Rune also progressed to the quarterfinals. Rune came back from a set down to overcome Argentine Sebastian Baez, winning 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. His next challenge will be against Norway’s Casper Ruud, as they compete for a spot in the semifinals.
