Islamabad, September 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement, Abdul Majeed Malik, Vice Chairman of Pir Panjal Freedom Movement, Qazi Imran and Convener of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Association, Khalid Shabbir have glowing tributes to Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Qasim alias, Abid Hussain on his 23rd martyrdom anniversary.
Indian troops had martyred, Muhammad Qasim alias, Abid Hussain on this day in 1998 at Bhagwa in Doda. Abdul Majeed Malik, Qazi Imran and Khalid Shabbir in a joint statement issued in Islamabad said that Abid Hussain was a brave Hurriyat leader, adding that the Indian force utilized every tactic to prevent him from his just struggle for right to self-determination but did not succeed.
They said even the Indian Army put his relatives behind the bars and even burnt his house. Later, he shifted to his brother’s house. They said on June 28, 1998 the Indian troops entered his house at night and started indiscriminate firing on his family members and as a result, Abid Hussain’s brother, Muhammad Hussain Butt, sister-law, Sakina Begum, anothersister-law, Saleema Begum and niece, Seema Bano were martyred. They said that the people of Kashmir would always remember the sacrifices of Hurriyat leader, Abid Hussain and his family members for the Kashmir cause.
